Which smart thermostat is best for my system?
Depends on your equipment. ecobee handles complex systems (dual-fuel, multi-stage, zoned) best and works with all major brands. Nest is the most polished consumer experience. Honeywell T6/T9 are workhorses for rentals and simpler systems. For Trane equipment specifically, the ComfortLink™ II XL1050 integrates with the equipment’s communicating controls.
Will a smart thermostat work with my older AC?
Usually yes, as long as you have a C-wire (common wire) at the thermostat. If you don’t, we can either run a new C-wire from the air handler or install a 24V power extender kit as part of the thermostat install. We check before quoting.
How much do you charge to install a thermostat I already bought?
$149 flat for a customer-supplied thermostat install in the SGV, including basic setup, Wi-Fi pairing, and a 15-minute walkthrough on the app. C-wire add-ons or rewiring are extra and quoted before work starts.
